Stayed here in business. Great location in Midtown next to Central Park. This was obviously a gem of a hotel in its heyday but not anymore, threadbare corridor carpets and fading paintwork give the place a rundown feel.
The staff are amazing, courteous and responsive, well most of them. The food is average my shrimp tasted of chlorine, the room service waiter who returned to collect my tray just barged into my room without ringing the bell!! There were no bath towels in the room. I offered my feedback to the front desk which the courteously accepted but didn’t respond to. I travel a lot on business and pleasure,
I get to stay in a lot of very nice hotels, The Pierre is not 5-star, I’d give it 3.5 at best, absolutely trading on past glory and desperately in need of refurbishment.
